"Yeshivas Kol Yaakov is a unique yeshiva for baalei teshuva. The 1970’s marked an explosive resurgence in interest amongst Jewish youth in their faith. News footage of jubilant revelers dancing before the newly recaptured Western Wall soon led to scenes of rabbeim sitting in borrowed rooms and basements, huddled over seforim with refugees from the counter-culture who had "dropped-out and tuned-in" to their heritage.

The late venerable sage HaGaon HaRav Yaakov Kamenetsky zt"l saw this as a tremendous opportunity to introduce a new generation of American born Jews to the splendor of Torah learning. This was the genesis of Kol Yaakov Torah Center. By combining the standard yeshiva curriculum with a low rebbe/talmid ratio and an emphasis on character development and leadership training, the vision of HaRav Kamenetsky has come to fruition-a yeshiva which prepares aspiring talmidei chachamim for a Torah-true life and for positions of leadership in the Jewish community.
