Kol Yaakov Torah Center is currently accepting applications for the June 6 – June 27, 2010 session of our Summer Horizons, a program designed for young men who are interested in an abbreviated “zman” (semester) of yeshiva learning.

Kol Yaakov has been educating and inspiring young Jewish men for over a quarter-century. The Yeshiva’s educational philosophy, a product of its close relationship with the great R’ Yaakov Kaminetsky zt”l, is that Jewish learning is the gateway to a full and robust Jewish life. In this spirit, we have designed a program which provides the beginning to intermediate learner with an intensive curriculum in Talmud, Chumash, Halachah and Mussar. Students will enjoy the personal attention that only a small, intimate yeshiva can offer.

7:30 - Shacharis

8:30 - Breakfast

9:30 - Session I - Gemara in-depth

1:00 - Lunch/Free Time

3:15 - Mincha

3:30 - Session IIa - Chumash (Five Books of Moses)

4:30 - Session IIb - Halacha (Jewish Law)

5:30 - Session IIc - Mussar (Character Development)

6:00 - Free Time

7:00 - Dinner

8:00 - Session III - Chavrusa (learning partners) with Kol Yaakov students

9:45 - Maariv

'ALL WORK AND NO PLAY'... Even yeshiva students need a break! Periodic excursions give you a chance to experience New York and the Monsey community. Potential activities include:

* Bike tour through lower Manhattan

* Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island

* Lower East Side Tenement Museum

* Demonstrations by a professional shatnez tester and sofer (writer of Torah scrolls and tefillin)

* Hike and barbecue through Harriman State Park

Men's Session: June 6 – June 27, 2010 Also: Accepted applicants qualify for FULL PROGRAM AND TRAVEL EXPENSES.
